iceland gifted björk with this island called elliðaey for helping put iceland on the international map. according to reports, there’s been a bit of a public outcry, but isn’t the idea of having a solitary wooden house on a cold, windy island like this just marvellous? and a perfect place for a musician like björk to dream up her new direction in soundscape…
ok go collaborated with über nerds from all over the place on this incredibly fun video: nasa, mit media lab, cal tech, syyn labs… made on a tiny budget using lo-fi materials, the ultimate hand-made rube goldberg machine is synced to the music and the whole video was shot in one take. gasping for air!!!

caught yo la tengo play at the hi-fi bar last night and they were rad! possibly the uncoolest looking cool band on the planet.
they were supported by songs, who were really impressive actually. would definitely see them again.

this was a weekend that involved so much good stuff: from doing the shuffle with old friends at the gorgeous jazz club in kangaroo point, to belting out 90s tunes and watching the sun come up with new ones… but i have to say that the highlight by far was dancing to (and perving at) jarvis cocker on saturday night. could definitely drop everything to run away and spend the rest of my life with him. if only he’d ask!
