lyn gardener’s gorgeous “white house” has given me a serious case of the wants. how lush is that bedroom? and don’t get me started on the kitchen. all this gives me an even greater desire to take a mini holiday to picture-perfect daylesford. anyone want to join me?

sometimes in life the stars align and the universe gifts you with something that makes you feel blindingly happy. i’m talking about a favourite band (in this case, grizzly bear) covering a favourite song (boy from school, by hot chip) on a favourite segment on the radio (jjj’s like a version) and the result is so dang good it’s on permanent repeat in itunes. contented sigh.

Sunday, January 24th, 2010ok go just keep producing such entertaining videos. this one reminds me of the monty python how not to be seen skit (not really similar at all, but made an instant brain connection when i saw the camouflaged brass players). plus, how good is it to see a single take clip being pulled off!

BIRD Grey Crowned Crane from Andrew Zuckerman Studio on Vimeo.
came home last to find a gorgeous card in the post – sent by a darling friend who takes delight in feeding my owl obsession – and it now sits on my desk to cheer me up on this never-ending friday!
it seemed appropriate, then, to post this mesmerising video created by andrew zuckerman, to accompany his book of incredible bird photography. made me gasp!

update: the bird film’s embed feature was disabled on vimeo so you’ll have to follow the direct link to view it.

had a good chuckle over these kids’ drawings of common idioms. there’s a huge collection over at idioms by kids: a recommended afternoon pick-me-up!
