obscured vision
Friday, October 30th, 2009e.p.
Thursday, October 29th, 2009checked out the easton pearson review at the gallery of modern art last night. came away totally inspired to put more energy into my design process and to look for sources of inspiration far away from home, taking in a more global and historical viewpoint.
the easton pearson designers – lydia and pam – find inspiration in the cross-fertilisation of cultures… what happens when african cultures adopt european religion and traditions, and vice versa. they mix ethnic prints with edwardian and ecclesiastical blouses, and embellish batik with sequins and beads sourced from all over the globe. amazing how a piece of clothing can fill you with such wonder and amazement! even my dad was impressed.

xavier veilhan
Tuesday, October 27th, 2009how amazing are these installation pieces by xavier veilhan? placed around and inside the main château de versailles, i love the contrast of the geometric purples against the opulent décor. all the above were shot by the selby.
being lazy by doing too much
Friday, October 23rd, 2009“There are different species of laziness: Eastern and Western. The Eastern style is like the one practised in India. It consists of hanging out all day in the sun, doing nothing, avoiding any kind of work or useful activity, drinking cups of tea, listening to Hindi film music blaring on the radio, and gossiping with friends. Western laziness is quite different. It consists of cramming our lives with compulsive activity, so there is no time at all to confront the real issues. This form of laziness lies in our failure to choose worthwhile applications for our energy.”

apartment stalking in sweden
Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

warning: apartment stalking on the swedish real estate broker and interior design website alvhem mäkleri & interiör might just rob you of several hours from your very busy schedule. each property is painstakingly decorated, styled and photographed and almost every shot makes you want to buy a swedish-language guide, pack your bags and move to göteborg.
